Nepali netizens have been completely enamored in recent weeks by a clever young girl with the gift of the gab. Prensa Regmi, hailing from Pokhara, is the talk of the town right now as a prodigal ‘motivation speaker’, whose words and wisdom totally belie her age. Nepalis are already showering her with love and praising her understanding of morality and ethics.
Despite her young age, Prensa Regmi has already become famous with her classic line “Dhan le kei pani hudaina”. The sight of a literal child talking about real-life issues and their cliche solutions can be unusual. Naturally, people were amused and Nepali trollers too started poking fun at the situation.
But, these trolls quickly escalated their jokes to insults. The Nepali side of the internet is known to be ruthless and these trollers have a habit of taking things too far. History only repeated as they refused to tone down their hatred even when a child was involved.
No matter how much Prensa’s words might annoy you, we must be mindful of the fact that she literally is a baby. She must be repeating what her parents have taught her and honestly, she does seem to have great values.
Getting annoyed with the feeling of ‘what does a child know anyway’ is understandable. However, bullying an immature little kid is immature in itself. Here are some ‘trolls’, essentially bullying the child.
We can’t imagine the impact all this negativity might have created on the malleable mind of a child. What might seem harmless jokes for adults can hit deep for Prensa. We hope all this bullying dies down and people learn to joke within a limit.
