Chocolate Pani Puri Is Apparently A Thing, And It’s Utterly Sacrilegious

The trend of creating terrible food combinations has taken its worst turn yet with the utterly sacrilegious chocolate pani puri. The many masterminds behind these abominable creations are the true villains of the internet. We’ve seen examples of noodles mixed in with cake, and deep-friend cakes that have been dipped in batter.

Every time you see one of these videos, you can only reel in shock and hope to never see one again. But then it happens yet again, a few months down the line. The latest ‘discovery’ in this villainous trend, however, can officially be called the last straw.

The pani puri is one of those timeless food dishes that needs no correction and no reinvention. It’s a food item that fits the definition of perfect — where you cannot remove, add or modify thing without making it worse.

So, among all the many terrible food combinations you can create, a variation on the pani puri is simply more blasphemous as a rule of nature.

We also find that this variation is a greatly unimaginative one, bringing in the most common twist in the entire history of food abominations — chocolate in an ethnic dish.

Listen — if you want to have chocolates that are round, there are many varieties of chocolate toffees that will catch your fancy. Some of them even have caramel filling inside to make things more exciting. So, what’s the point of creating something like this and calling it a chocolate pani puri?

To make things even worse, the filling in this pani puri is not even made of chocolate; it’s an Indian dessert dish called basundhi, which is just condensed milk with some Indian flavors. Once again, the unsavory clash between two completely different and unmatching cuisines.

As to how well this reimagining of the pani puri works, you need only look at the host’s expression to understand that this dish shouldn’t exist at all.

Careful examination of the host’s expressions in the moments after she chomps on the chocolate monstrosity reveals that she actually rolls her eyes in reaction to the alien taste. Enough said!

Thankfully, this heinous sin was invented by an Indian establishment. So, we Nepalis are quite safe from being in its vicinity. But honestly, someone should put a stop to these atrocious insults to our favorite foods!
