Nepal Traffic Drops A Dope Music Video; Raps To Raise Awareness About Traffic Rules

Nepal traffic police – whether you respect them or detest them, you can’t deny the fact that Nepal’s Traffic Police department has a flair for theatrics. That flair is most visible when we see the blue uniformed cops busting their quirky moves while fulfilling their duties, making their job fun for everyone.

Nepal Traffic has taken a creative approach on making the masses aware about the traffic rules – with groovy rhythms, fiery raps and nifty dance moves.

Each year, the valley of Kathmandu alone witnesses 5,500 accidents, 180 of whom result in deaths. Hence, the traffic department is always urging the public to carefully follow the traffic rules. However, Instead of resorting to the traditional format of just laying down the rules like its a boring lecture, the traffic department has tried to make the learning process fun by adding music and dance to it.

This isn’t the first time we’ve been wooed by the moves of a traffic police officer. 7 years back, before Tiktok was even a thing, traffic inspector Sitaram Hachhhethu was already going viral for his dance moves. Cool as a cucumber, Hachhhethu simultaneously controls the frenzied traffic of Kathmandu while moving to the beats of ‘Bairoad K Bato Ma’

Moving ahead with the times, Nepal Traffic is trying to resonate with the youth in order to get their safety message across. It’s commendable how our blue uniformed friends often go out of their way and through so much of trouble just to make sure we remember to abide by the rules created for our own safety. With deeds like these, the Traffic department perfectly captures the spirit of ‘Police My Friend’
