74 year old, President Donald Trump tweeted Friday morning that he along with his wife, Melania Trump have tested positive for COVID- 19 and will begin their quarantine.
Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!

As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.

Trump had been down-playing the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic by refusing to wear a mask in majority of his public appearances. In the recent presidential debate, Donald Trump was even seen mocking Joe Biden for wearing a mask.
Trump is believed to have contracted the virus from one of his closest aides, Hope Hicks, who had tested positive. This later prompted the President to be tested for the virus. The test result came in at a very unfortunate time for President Trump, with the elections nearing in and being only 33 days away. With Trump being 74 years of age, he is at a higher risk of suffering from COVID 19 complications. The POTUS is well at the moment and has not shown any severe symptoms of the virus.
According to NBC News Trump’s doctor, Sean Conley said:
“The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.”
Here are some of the reactions from the Internet:
Karen and I send our love and prayers to our dear friends President @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS Melania Trump. We join millions across America praying for their full and swift recovery. God bless you President Trump & our wonderful First Lady Melania.

“So she did test positive,” Trump says on Fox News, confirming Bloomberg News’ scoop on Hope Hicks’ coronavirus diagnosis.
He says he and the first lady just got tested because they spent time with Hicks. Says he’ll get the results tonight or tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/DAlq7mL1nf

Trump says Hope Hicks had a hard time staying away from people when soldiers and law enforcement come up to her and want to say hi, because she’s very “warm,” and you have to treat people well.

While we wait for the Biden campaign’s response, a reminder that we learned Joe Biden has been getting tested regularly since at least late August, along with the staff around him, and the campaign has expressed they will release the results if he tests positive.

Four years ago, today: Donald Trump was mocking Hillary Clinton for contracting an illness – pneumonia – and implying that it showed she was weak. https://t.co/wywh62CntI

Donald Trump has the ‘China plague’. If I was Chinese-American, I would be fucking terrified right now

Trump: I tested positive for Covid, actually I tested more positive than anyone. Doctors are amazed by how positive I tested, they can’t believe it, they tell me, Donald, you are over 100 percent covid, it defies known science, science is fake news.#TrumpHasCovid
